Georgetown Story-Formed Life
meeting people growing spiritually
Stories. From infancy through adulthood, we all love a good story. Daily, our hearts are captivated by the most compelling story that wins our attention and affection. We aren’t content in simply hearing a good story, we want to start living it out. Have you ever seen young children after they have heard or seen a new story? The days following, you may find them making their own costumes of the characters or repeating phrases they heard in the story, or copying the main character’s actions. We humans aren’t content simply hearing a good story, we want to LIVE it. We ALL want to be a part of something bigger than ourselves, serving a higher purpose and finding a meaningful identity.  What if you found out that there really was one, true, time-tested story you could rely on that doesn’t change or fall flat after hearing it many times? One filled with a grand beginning and ending, drama, a protagonist and antagonist, adventure and redemption and sacrificial love? That is what the Story-Formed Life experience is all about. SFL is an 11-week immersive, interactive, and life-changing exploration of the Story of the Bible – from the Creation to the Re-Creation. It’s different from other studies and courses in that it’s specifically designed to expose and increase participant’s faith as opposed to just acquiring more knowledge. Guided by a trained facilitator, participants will be challenged in their faith and given a foundation for a lifetime of radical faith and discipleship. While the weekly sessions center around group discussion (midrash), this guide will help you put what you learn into action. The Story-Formed Life experience is an incredible opportunity to allow the Biblical story to transform your life. Are you ready? As we embrace a new year and new rhythms, there will be a group meeting on Thursdays from 6:00-7:45pm at the Scott County Library.    Story-Formed Life is a 11 week group that meets to read through the Story of God and how He invites us to be a part of it. The format is fairly simple but commitment for at least 10 of the 11 weeks is crucial. There are 10 spots available and any overflow group participant requests will be put on a waitlist for the next session.
